Dereck is presently studying to become a chef as he loves cooking, learning new techniques and flavors, and of course sharing his masterpieces with friends and family. He specializes in a cuisine that is simple and perfectly spiced. He has a movie addiction since childhood and it shows in his first cookbook, where all the recipes are from well-known movies and is appropriately titled Cooking the Movies!

He lives in New Jersey with his dog Moose, a mixed lab that will happily devour anything Dereck gives him.
